Our Mission

The Grind League, a nonprofit, empowers Lorain County youth and young adults by providing resources, events, and health awareness. We promote unity and positive experiences, aiming to improve lives through advocacy and community engagement by event hosting, sharing resources, and being a voice for the younger generation.

Our organization’s slogan is “Be Kind, Grind Together”. This highlights the promotion of positive mental health, both individually and collectively, fostering strong relationships within and beyond your community.

Be Kind, Grind Together.

The Grind League was founded in 2019 by Darius “DJ D*Grind” Winborn, with a vision born out of a deep understanding of the challenges many young people in Lorain County face—limited recreational opportunities, economic hardship, and a lack of access to mentorship and guidance. Darius saw firsthand how these obstacles hindered the potential of youth and young adults in the area. Recognizing the urgent need for positive change, he set out to create an initiative that would inspire, empower, and uplift the community. What started as a simple idea quickly grew into a movement, bringing together a team of like-minded individuals who shared his commitment to making a lasting impact. Together, they founded The Grind League, which focuses on providing the resources, mentorship, and opportunities that young people need to thrive and succeed.
